Rising addiction rates and disputes among street-level drug dealers were key factors in driving up homicides in Tijuana last year, making 2016 the most violent in the citys history, authorities said Tuesday.
The total for the year came to 910 for Tijuana

Most impressively Tijuana managed to beat Chicago with a depleted bench. According to a search...TJ has half the population of Chicago.
1.3 million compared to 2.7 million.
C’mon Chicago. You can do better!!
900+ or bust in 2017!
Like Mexico City, so many people are “off the grid” no one knows how many people actually live in TJ. Still, it’s a safe bet that the true number is many times more than the published figure.
Medical triage kept the Chicago death count lower than it would be otherwise. Chicago should be the National training center for Army battlefield medics and doctors.
Then, make Detroit, the national fire training center
In the early 80’s I lived in Imperial Beach, CA - which is a stones throw from TJ....THE VERY NEXT American town across the border.

Just about every morning they found evidence, trash, of illegals camping in their back yard.
I can beat that - saw a guy stab another guy in the street in front of my apartment building. I just happened to be looking out the window at the ocean view at the time. (The ocean view made living there worth it...most days.)
I called 9-1-1 from the neighbor’s. We were very low-ranking Navy at the time and so absolutely BROKE that we couldn’t afford our own telephone.
There were more murders in Chicago over the New-Year’s weekend than there were in the entire province of BC last year!
I can’t fathom that level of violence.
Victor Davis Hanson’s article posted here on FR lays out the problems CA is facing, if you haven’t read it.
I saw the graffiti on the wall and returned to the midwest a long time ago.
But on the bright side guns (and even ammo) are strictly regulated in Mexico and illegal for most to possess.
Yeah, but chitcago wins if you look at the percentage increase. Total numbers in another highly restrictive location for firearms. Looks like meh-EEK-O needs to tighten up it’s anti-gun laws.
