'Trust Me' Doesn’t Cut it on Russian Hacking
Frontpage ^ | January 9, 2017 | Kenneth R. Timmerman

Here’s the real problem with the joint intelligence report on alleged Russian hacking: without the classified details, we ordinary citizens are supposed to take the breathless allegations, presented as “high confidence” intelligence judgments, on faith.

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and CIA Director John Brennan are crossing their fingers and saying, “Trust us.”

Since both are political appointees – Brennan in particular came directly out of the Obama White House, where he is believed to have orchestrated secret arms smuggling through Libya to Syrian rebels that led directly to the Benghazi disaster – excuse me if I remain skeptical.

Has Russia been engaged in sophisticated disinformation operations in the United States? Well, duh. That’s been going on for decades. During the Cold War, as General Clapper reminded the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday, we had a separate United States Information Agency (USIA) at the State Department to combat Soviet intelligence desinformatziya and, to a lesser degree, maskirovka.

"The omission of any context in the unclassified version of this report, coupled to the breathless tone of its “high-confidence” conclusions and total lack of factual evidence in the public version, makes it appear like a political hatchet job. That in itself does a disservice to the honest, hard-working intelligence gatherers and analysts of the U.S. intelligence community."

That they would give the top secret report to NBC means they coild give the facts to us. It’s politically classified and not national security classified.

The CIA always gets it wrong, at great cost to the citizen of the United States. They would have a better score if they were throwing darts at a board.

They are grossly incompetent and most likely always wrong because of political corruption.

The intel community GATHERS information they DO NOT disseminate it to the public. Throughout their ENTIRE history they have never told the truth publically, not even once. EVERY public statement has been designed to produce some result they want.

I cannot think of a single large event since WWII where they have been honest when explaining to the public what was happening.

Futhermore, when the dems, the FBI, the CIA, Obama, McCain and Linda Graham, and the MSM all agree, I am 100% certain that I am being lied to.

I trust Obama appointees about as far as I could throw Rosie O’Donnell.

The ongoing MSM lies will have their intended effect. A fair number of people will believe that Trump was put into office by Russian hacking. That lie is now a "legitimate" viewpoint.

I so look forward to watching Trump attack the media when he is POTUS. Finally they will have to pay a price for abandoning journalism.

“Trust us.”

We don't give our government enough credit for a sense of humor.
The common trait, the fundamental skill of spies is the ability and willingness to lie. Aside from the training, the technology, even the politics associated with the alphabet organizations that have become the guardians of the nation's secrets, the rock bottom basic core of these people is deceit, misinformation, misdirection; tactical, official mendacity.

“Trust us.”

Yeah, sure.

Who do you trust?

New investigation should be done of these two starting with confirmation of their predecessors

Yeah, sure
While you're at it, got a bridge you wanna sell me?

You're already paying for the bridge, it's called Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP.

I bet you thought that if you had to pay for the bridge it would be your bridge, right? That's not how it works, you just get the bill, they got the title.

[[without the classified details, we ordinary citizens are supposed to take the breathless allegations, presented as “high confidence” intelligence judgments, on faith.]]

No different than ‘man-caused climate change’- we’re just supposed to believe that they are 98% positive man is causing it- without seeing any of the numbers- We’re just supposed to believe that the computer models show a 98% link between CO2 and warming- and we’re supposed to ignore all the facts that refute the idiotic allegations

They won’t tell you for instance that the atmosphere has just 0.00136% CO2 in it due directly to man- a number so ridiculously small that any reputable scientist would never agree that this insignificant amount could cause any fluctuations at all-

They also won’t admit that there was no warming for 20 years Despite rising CO2 levels,

They also won’t admit that ice core samples prove that CO2 rises after temperatures rise- 800 years after infact-

They also won’t tell you that etc etc etc- because it flies i nthe face of heir agenda

Nope- We’re just supposed to take their word for it that their secret backroom decisions prove 98% certain that ‘man is the nearly sole cause of climate change’

At the behest of the White House John Brennan has continually leaked details of classified operations for partisan political ends. He should be in jail.

Even if the Russians did hack a private computer, so what? The level of outrage needs to be proportional to the crime and of similar crimes. The principle of equality, that great tradition of Anglo-American civilization, applies itself in the criminal law not only in a defendant's defense but also in his prosecution and punishment. The Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution proscribes equal protection under the law to every citizen of the United States. It's in this very spirit that a certain amount of equality is proscribed in the prosecution of like crimes, even when individual justice and common sense might suggest otherwise.

When 20 million personal files of secrete clearances were hacked by the Chinese, from a GOVERMENNT server, nothing was done about it by Obama. But now a couple of private servers are hacked, and almost starting a war with Russia is the remedy?

In addition regardless of how the news was obtained of the information from the leaks, western society since colonial times have always embraced the public right to know information from anonymous news sources. Journalist right to keep their sources confidant is a staple of a Free press. Watergate for example, leaks from Deep Throat were printed in the Washington Post and swayed public opinion to accept the impeachment of Nixon. The left had no problem with leaks and anonymous source for water gate...

The level of outrage for violations perpetrated on a couple of careless private citizens compared to real hacking of government data of 20 million workers who trusted their government for safety and the disregard of the free press for the right to inform the public without disclosing sources is not how a civil society works... more like how a communist or banana republic dictatorship works !

Make no mistake about it: the powers that be are itching to start a war with Russia - a war NO ONE could win, and they
know that. Russia is making NO moves on Germany! But with country after country starting to go “Brexit” these NWO/Globalists are seeing their gains of decades crumbling.

If they can start something and have a trumped up excuse to declare Martial Law - which would stop the inauguration allowing them to maintain power...they are capable of it. Yes, they are that evil and panicked. If they lose power, a lot of them could face serious charges for actions in the past few years.. And that includes McCain and his cozy connections with ISIS leaders.

Time to let our representatives : KNOCK IT OFF?

That posture/pose of Clapper’s is what’s called a “tell” in poker. It’s what he does whenever he’s concocting a lie to use in answering a question.

Has Russia been engaged in sophisticated disinformation operations in the United States? Well, duh. That’s been going on for decades.

And the Democrats have welcomed Soviet disinformation techniques for decades, in their desire to implement Soviet style socialism by any means necessary. The irony is that now, after decades of effort, when it looks like their dream of a Socialist dictatorship is crumbling to dust, they are now turning against the Russians.

John Brennan betrayed the United States when he voted for Commie Gus Hall for President in 1976. Brennan should never be trusted. Brennan is Traitorobama’s traitorous CIA director. After January 20, the CIA will have to be gutted to get rid of the stench from Brennan.

Ask yourself this: Why was the Great Glacier gone by the time the Europeans got to the North American Continent?

Where did it go?

What made it go?

Because it used to be a mile deep, and it held so much water that the ocean levels were 150 feet below where they are today.

And this was all thousands of years before the industrial revolution.
