Black people are VERY loyal to each other.

If a white family is at home and another white person pounds on the door and breathlessly says:
"...Police are chasing me. Quick, hide me in your attic..."
There is a 99.99% chance the door wouldn't be opened. If it was opened by mistake, the stranger might be at gunpoint with homeowner dialing 9-1-1.

If a black family(?) is at home and another black person pounds on the door and breathlessly says:
"...Po-po be chasing me, yo. Hide me in your attic, dawg..."
The likelihood is that they would be invited in, even as complete strangers, and with no questions asked.

There is a whole different set of assumptions, beliefs, and behaviors towards the notion of criminality between the two communities.
