San Bernardino shooter’s brother admits immigration fraud

Syed Raheel Farook, the older brother of one of the San Bernardino terrorist attackers, admitted Tuesday to conspiring to commit immigration fraud by setting up his Russian sister-in-law in a sham marriage.

These immigrants are coming into our country and crapping all over our heads and there is not a thing we can do about it.

Actually he is not an immigrant. He might be a crook but I don’t think he is an Islamic terrorist like his evil brother. You can tell because in pictures he smiles. You never see an Islamic Terrorist smile.

Can anyone explain why his sentencing is not scheduled until November?

This is January -- that is 10 months in the future. And, he will be out on bail until then.

All I can see is a huge possibility for him to disappear, since he can get 5 years for this crime.

There is no doubt of his guilt, since he just admitted it...

It’s a federal sentencing. There is always a large gap between a plea and sentencing because they have to do the pre-sentence investigation report and that takes 4 or 5 months to get done, then the defense has time to review and file objections, so usually the actual sentencing will be 6 months or so after the plea hearing. He may be free on pre-trial release, but he may be on GPS monitoring, his passports will have been surrendered, etc. He is likely not going anywhere.
