Mark Levin: Time Patriots Stand Our Ground In Defense Of Donald Trump
Rick Wells ^ | 01/12/17 | Rick Wells

Posted on 01/12/2017 7:39:25 AM PST by Enlightened1

Mark Levin wants to once and for all put the difficult election behind the American patriots, be they Republican or of other persuasions, avid Trump supporters or reluctant, whole-hearted or less so. He says, “It is time. It is time that we stand our ground in defending Donald Trump’s legitimacy and the fact that he is the President-elect and to become the president.”

Levin, who it’s better to have arriving late to the party than out driving around lost in the wrong neighborhood, says, “Because I’m telling you right now and I’ve told you before, the media, the Praetorian Guard media, the Democrat Party, which puts party before country, academia and Hollywood, are seeking a coup of sorts. That’s exactly what they’re doing.”

He continues, “Standing up for Donald Trump in this regard. Not for every issue, not for every nominee, but standing up for Donald Trump is standing up for our Constitution, for the legitimacy of the election. We cannot allow the left and by the left I include the media, we cannot allow the left to decide who’s legitimate and who is not. And keep something in mind – they hate us too.”

Levin points out, “There would be no Jeff Sessions nomination if Hillary Clinton were the President-elect. There’d be no repeal of Obamacare, even an attempted repeal of Obamacare if Hillary Clinton had been elected. And I can go on down the line.”

“What they seek to do,” says Levin, “and they’ve done it even before the man is inaugurated, is to drive issues of controversy. I don’t mean controversy about specific matters, but the fact that he’s president, they want it to be controversial.

You never answered my question

Churchill was just as much a natural born citizen as Cruz, an American on one’s mother’s side.
Why would Congress bestow HONORARY citizenship on a natural born citizen?

“Not to mention the pictures of Amanda in the Fox bathroom at 5:00 a.m. wearing his jacket while he was on the set without his jacket showing off a matching temporary tattoo.”

Thank you. I remembered the tattoo but not the woman’s name or the jacket story.
I guess my brain has been intentionally blocking anything dealing with Ted Cruz’s sex life. I don’t blame it.

You have asked me to answer a question which even the estimable Justice Scalia did not consider himself fit to answer: what is the true intent of Congress?

Do a bing search for Amanda Carpenter images and it pops up.
So does the picture of her sitting on a bed in a hotel room with two condoms next to her.
Her twitter habit exposed her.

Nice dodge.
They gave Churchill HONORARY citizenship because he was not a citizen of the US at all.
Neither is Ted Cruz unless he or his mother applied to have him recognized as such. We have seen no documentation that shows he or his parents applied to have him recognized as a citizen.
He is definitely NOT a natural born citizen as anyone who has read the writings of the founders knows.

you don’t burn the nation down because someone insults you.

Do you insult someone if it might burn down the nation?

In my reply to you I set forth the events leading up to that speech which you have not objected to just as Trump did not object to the contents of the speech which were submitted beforehand.

It seems to me that Trump bears much of the responsibility for this affair. In the end, Ted Cruz told people to vote their conscience he did not tell anyone not to vote for Trump. Trump understood what was coming and did not object.

Why is it that Ted Cruz is burning down the nation but Donald Trump bears no responsibility? He could have forestalled all of it but chose not to; he could have exercised what the law describes as the "last clear chance" to avoid the problem and holds that person responsible.

I chose to support the nation Ted’s family lives in.

I’m sorry you are convinced he was right not to.

The first statute passed by the first Congress says otherwise. But I do not wish to relitigate a matter which is now entirely moot. I understand this is a deeply held belief on your part and I am inclined to think that you are probably right but I am also bound to say that the question is not without counter arguments.

full I also happen to believe that in the view of the direction the litigation against Barack Obama took, which was never to reach the merits, the result would likely also obtain against challenges to Ted Cruz. This is a response on a practical level rather than on a theoretical constitutional level and I understand your position. The problem is getting your point of view litigated to a conclusion and a vindication.

Meanwhile I preserve a wee bit of humility on the subject.

Amanda’s twitter feed pretty much convinced me that there was more than a professional relationship there.

Marriages where the couple lives apart seldom encourage fidelity.

His children seemed to have no respect at all for him and those phony videos of the family dinner table were just awful.

I’m sorry you are convinced he was right not to.

I think you misunderstand me. I do not contend that he was right just that he was within his rights in view of the provocations done by Donald Trump. And I believe the Donald Trump bears a share of the responsibility if the speech in any way risked harm to the nation.

I would have preferred that Ted Cruz had given a full throated endorsement to Trump at the time but I understand why he did not and I believe Donald Trump could have cured the problem.

That act was repealed and its replacement removed the mention of natural born citizen.
Even in the language of that repealed act, it stated that children born of citizens abroad “shall be considered as natural born citizens”, clearly indicating that they were not.

Ted Cruz committed the unforgivable sin of inviting Republicans to vote their conscience. How disloyal!

Well yes, yes it was.

Nathan do you still ignore totally that Cruz was not and never shall be a Natural Born Citizen? You were not alone in that opinion, many Freepers decided he was or that it didn't matter, because Obama did it, but many many did not. We were just discourage from saying so here.

You keep mentioning Curz having submitted his intended speech in advance, as if that pushed any blame off on Trump.

The petulant child revealed to the Trump team he refused to endorse. What was Trump supposed to do, refuse him the opportunity to address Anerica?

Who was the bigger man in that situation? It sir wasn’t Tead Curz.

When given the oportunity to endorse Trump and bring all his supporters with him, Curz refused.

To hell with the nation, point made. FAIL!

It is my understanding that that statute was not actually "repealed" but simply superseded by a new statute with a new definition. And that raises the question whether a natural born citizenship can be fixed by act of Congress?

In any event the first statute is evidence of the understanding of the first Congress about the meaning of the phrase "natural born" which favors Ted Cruz. There are cases that seem to go the other way as does the subsequent statute you cite.

Please forgive if I have any of these facts wrong, all of this is from memory of some time ago.

Tead couldn’t be bothered to help the nation on the side of the road.

Now that’s Trump’s fault because he could have healed him.

That is some seriously screwed up logic.

In all this, what did the nation do to offend Ted? That’s the entity he took it out on.

Poor little child Tead threw a temper tantrum and couldn’t get over it for months. “Screw the nation, my feelings were hurt!”
