Ultimately, Assad likely doesn’t mind Hezbollah being kept weakened and in check without him looking like he is going after them directly.
It would be interesting if Israel had working relationships with Syria and Russia.
I don’t think Russia sees Israel as a threat to it’s interests. Israel generally takes action after it is hit.
In this instance, all three players may see advantages to taking the airport out of commission.
If there’s no blow-back on this in the next few days, we can be pretty certain there was an agreement.
Even if Syria (and possibly even Russia) voices animosity over it, it could be seen as bluster to appease the terrorists.
