We let the Baltic States be added to NATO, which was pretty damned stupid. They are entirely indefensible militarily, far more hopeless than Ukraine (which I also don’t want to see in NATO). Our only hope with the Baltics is that Russia never feels like moving in there, because they are in a hopeless position geographically. We would have to go all WWIII to try to do anything for the Baltics or Ukraine.

The whole process of adding a new country to NATO takes 2-3 years and requires many things including being approved by parliaments of all member states... I doubt he doesn’t know that.
