I certainly wish we could get rid of ethanol - what a horrible idea. Drops mileage by at least 3.5% as ethanol has about 1/3 less energy than gasoline and is 10% of the fuel - but in the real world it is more likely to be 6-10% reduction.

I agree completely. And people should remember that the greatly reviled Ted Cruz was the ONLY republican candidate this time who spoke, in Iowa, against the Renewable Fuel Standards, which are the regulations requiring that ethanol be in our gas.

Perhaps the RFS can be rescinded under Trump!

Agreed! There’s many good reasons to get rid of the whole mandate to add alcohol to gasoline.
