A week before President-elect Donald Trump takes the oath of office, the U.S. Transportation Department issued new “guidance” for airline flight crews on how to avoid discriminating against Muslim and Sikh passengers.
DOT said it recognizes the very important and difficult job of the airlines to provide a safe and secure travel environment. “At the same time, it is important that this function be carried out in a non-discriminatory manner.”
The guidance says airline personnel must not be swayed by a passenger’s appearance alone: “In other words, airline personnel should ask themselves, but for the passenger’s perceived race, color, national origin, religion, sex or ancestry, would I be concerned that his or her behavior rises to the level of a potential threat to security?”
DOT offers four “illustrative scenarios” and possible resolutions. In all four cases, the flight crew is first required to consider if a passenger’s appearance alone is what makes their behavior troubling. …

This is idiotic.
A frail old woman, a Buddhist in a saffron robe, or a nun, any of whom appear to be nervous should not be viewed the same as a agitated young male passenger mumbling an islamic prayer.
Ruling out characteristics which correlate with a higher likelihood of terrorism is idiotic.

Upon exit he goes straight back to the rear lavatory. An alert FA notices and after a good length of time knocks on the door. “Sir, are you OK?” SEVERAL TIMES. NO RESPONSE.
The FA calls the First Officer and informs them and asks and receives permission to force open the door with several male passengers for back up. When the door is open the Bearded Male Passenger With a Tan Complexion is standing at attention and starts yelling at the FA, She gets him out of the lavatory and he states to her “I will kill you!” He is seated in his seat and passengers around him are told not to let him up. Plane lands in Detroit and Bearded Male Passenger With a Tan Complexion is taken off by federal agents. The agent takes a statement from the FA and tells her “We already knew of this guy”.

if this happens any time in the next 2-1/2 days, the FA, passengers and agents will all be prosecuted for hate crimes by the Justice Department. The airline will be fined $500,000 and the bearded passenger will be according free flights for life on that airline.

Hearing this the bearded, tanned passenger gets up and rushes to the front of the plane.
He gets about half way there when a man stands up an blocks his path and says, "Take it easy son. Plenty of time. He said he was gonna take a dump first."
