I remember the Corvair and Pinto.
I’m okay with some regulations.
You remember wrong-headed government interference and anti-business media attention. The Corvair was proven in court to be as safe as any other car on the road, and was a great car. The Pinto didn’t “explode” any worse than other small economy cars of the early 70’s. What problem there was, was due to much larger bolts piercing the gas tank, which ironically were required for the much larger federal impact “safety” bumpers mandated in 1973.
