WASHINGTON — Americans are getting older, but not this old: Social Security records show that 6.5 million people in the U.S. have reached the ripe old age of 112.
In reality, only few could possibly be alive. As of last fall, there were only 42 people known to be that old in the entire world.
But Social Security does not have death records for millions of these people, with the oldest born in 1869, according to a report by the agency’s inspector general.
Only 13 of the people are still getting Social Security benefits, the report said. But for others, their Social Security numbers are still active, so a number could be used to report wages, open bank accounts, obtain credit cards or claim fraudulent tax refunds.

I would venture to say most of these folks voted and the party affiliation is mostly Demoncrat.

I hate to think what they’ll find if they audit every single SSN. Even if they set the threshold at 80 yrs.
PBS with a random act of journalism knowing that the Trump Administration is hinting about ending taxpayers paying for PBS.
Then again, when it comes to one’s Social Security Number, you could “borrow” one, from someone who used to live in Connecticut by the name of Harrison J. Bounel, who was born in 1890 and immigrated from Russia.
Use that SSN and, later, become the 44th POTUS.
You know the deal with Obama’s SSN, right?
He has a prefix that was reserved for Connecticut, despite the fact that he never lived in Connecticut.
After the right side of the interwebs figured that out and began chattering about it, the Social Security Administration changed the rules on issuing cards. Prefixes no longer are linked to particular states.
Just a sheer coincidence, I’m sure.
X-POTUS, according to many reports, uses SS# from Conn -where he has NEVER LIVED- from someone born in the 1800’ s( His grandmother, a high muck-muck with big bank - had access to ‘free’ SS#’s)
Hope that gets run down in the next coupla yrs
