President Trump hung a portrait of Andrew Jackson in the Oval Office on Tuesday, The New York Times reports, an apparent nod to the populist sentiments of the new administration.
Trump's rise has often been compared to the populist election of Jackson, including by some of the new president's own team.
Chief White House strategist Steve Bannon called Trumps inauguration speech on Friday Jacksonian, saying it struck the populist and patriotic tones Jackson was known for.

Isn’t he the one getting wiped of the currency by Harriet Tubman?
I wonder what was removed.
Obama’s favorite portrait of Mao?
I’d like to see Trump nominate Dan Snyder to lead the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

CNN: “President Trump hung a portrait of Andrew Jackson, a black save owner, in the White House.”

Col. Andrew Jackson!
Jackson
Yuck
I once worked with an old couple from Western North Carolina. His name was Allen Jackson and he was a preacher. I once mentioned to his wife Bonnie that he looked just like Andrew Jackson.
She told me that when they were first married, they took a vacation trip to Tallahassee, Florida. In the Capitol was a portrait of Andrew Jackson who was once Governor of Florida.
She told me it looked just like her husband. They had no idea if they were actually related.
If he weren’t such a high achiever with better things to do, imagine how much fun he would be on the pun threads.
