What are the odds?
Circa 1966 Lockport Louisiana. State championship playoffs prior to the State Championships in Oakgrove. The stands were full. We had a good game. We had no officers except those directing traffic. Once the game started the officers sat down and watched the game. Times have sadly changed for the worse.
Even stranger was firearms. During hunting season I am my friends would sometimes hunt after football practice. We would have shotguns in our pickups. The coach knew, the principal knew and the cops knew. Hell, you could see them in the back of the window gun racks. This was just normal back then.
We never even considered using those weapons in an illegal fashion. The concept was totally foreign to our logic. I miss those days.
Round ball. Remember Clinton’s mid- night basketball?
Better than even?

they were probably leaving the game and in a hurry to get back to their computer college classes waiting at home or to get to choir practice at the nearest AME church. Just turning their lives around!
