French President François Hollande on Saturday urged Europe to present a united front against populist movements which, he said, are being encouraged by political developments in the United States.
Europe is facing a moment of truth, Hollande said. The issue is populism. What we are hearing from the U.S. encourages populism and even extremism. They are saying that Europe should not take immigrants, shouldnt stay together, not believe in climate change.
European Union countries should stick to their principles and defend their interests and stand firm in talks with U.S. President Donald Trump, Hollande said.
Europe should be true to itself. It should guide itself according to its values, its principles, and its interests, Hollande said on the sidelines of an informal meeting with six other EU leaders in Lisbon, Portugal. We should engage in discussions (with the U.S.) that sometimes should be very firm.

Europe is committing suicide.
This looks chaotic, but it’s more calculated than it appears on the surface.
Now that the left is in control, populism and nationalism are dirty words.
Perhaps “French Leader” should consider why his Gendarmes have so many no-go Muslim areas they are afraid to venture. Perhaps, “French Leader” should ask the French women of “French Leader’s” country how they feel about getting felt-up, groped and raped by filthy Muslim refugees.
Perhaps, “French Leader” should mind his own effing business and STFU.
Other EU countries are wanting to do the same but they don't have the "strength" of the UK.
You got that right, Buster.
But the TRUTH is that you and those Muslim sycophants in Europe like you CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH.
Read your own History. Charles Martel saved your European Asses from the Muslim invasion and now you are willingly surrendering your asses to them.
We don't call you guys Surrender Monkeys for nothing.
Froggie doesn’t like patriotism
Needs to scrap their national anthem in favor of The Internationale
Je’ Suis Une Carpette!
(We are a Doormat!)
They get around item one by claiming that there are no such areas.
I have a good friend that is an artist. He is Chicano. The city of Los Angeles sent to Paris about a dozen of our most talented muralists to do murals in France.
Well, Paris sent them to do murals in the “No Go areas’ and he came back freaked out about how very scary it was to paint in France. This wa almost 15 years ago. it was bad even then.
Exactly right.
Shut up Sissyboy . . . You’re running the best and brightest out of your country by knee padding Muslims and immigrants
This time we won’t bother to bail your sorry asses out
Seems like a dumb idea to attack a US President who has been in office for a week. Why do it? If this is how you feel keep it among your staff. Seems like a bad idea.
So ironic. A century ago American doughboys on their way to the trenches in France were singing,
“How ya gonna keep ‘em down on the farm, after they’ve seen Paree?”
What Hollande is saying is that self-government by the US or Britain, in which these countries make their own immigration and trade laws for the benefit of their own citizens, is “extreme” and “radical.”
Thankfully it looks like the French are not going to be putting up with this tyrannical fool for long.
“Europe should be true to itself. It should guide itself according to its values, its principles, and its interests,”
Hey, you’re funeral, froggie.
Pairs is due for another army to march through it. This time they will be blasting the muslim call to prayer instead of Prussian marching music.
One generation and they already forget.
I couldn’t believe the ignorance of the Europeans when I went there back in the eighties. I can’t believe my dad fought for their and our freedom over there and today’s idiots are giving it away.
The next time we go back, we will tell Lafayette that we are here to dig you up and transport you out of this disaster.
And hopefully all of the remains of the Americans that had to die for these people.
