ACLU wins legal challenge against immigration ban: ‘Hope Trump enjoys losing’

The American Civil Liberties Union announced Saturday evening that a federal court in New York had issued an emergency stay on President Trump’s executive order banning immigration from seven predominantly Muslim countries. The court’s decision, which will affect people who have been detained in airports, came after the ACLU and other activist groups filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of two Iraqis who were held at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York as a result of the order.

“I hope Trump enjoys losing. He’s going to lose so much we’re going to get sick and tired of his losing,” ACLU national political director Faiz Shakir told Yahoo News shortly after the decision was announced.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the court ruling.

If that was true how did President Carter use it against Iranians?

The stay did nothing. They still cannot enter the country, they are just not supposed to be sent home. Now they are stuck in the airport, in limbo, unless the Feds lock them up. Interestingly, these appear to be mostly from countries not blocked and from before the EO.

ACLU national political director is a member of the highly partisan radical group “Think Progress.”

Tonight is what happens when George Soros is allowed to breathe outside of prison.

Trump will have no choice but to invoke the DemonRat's own NUCLEAR OPTION for his Supreme Court pick and the sooner the better.

I highly suspect that President TRUMP expected this emergency order. This now allows the DOJ to go to court to have it determine that the courts have no say over this issue for refugees/immigrants. This would also include green card holders who, when re-entering the US, can, and in many cases are, denied entry. A green card is revocable at the the port of entry by the US without any reason required. I know of one Filipino that had lived in the US since he was 10 that was denied re-entry and there is nothing he can do about it.

It’s a VERY BIG bureauracacy, populated by bureaucrats, so just about anything can or can’t happen. Depending. Because depending. See above.

I agree. An IRS audit is due NOW.

Just like the “impartial” audits of Tea Party groups.

As for the muslim ACLU ####Sucker who said Trump should get used to losing...

I’ll dream tonight about pulling his mother ####ing arms right out of their sockets and shove a mother ####ing ham/pork/bacon sandwich down his worthless moon god loving throat.

A very limited “win” for the ACLU, certainly not worthy of smack talk.

““I hope Trump enjoys losing. He’s going to lose so much we’re going to get sick and tired of his losing,” ACLU national political director Faiz Shakir told Yahoo News shortly after the decision was announced.”

The comment of a reasonable man seriously concerned with the law and the rights of Americans. /sarc

Honestly, could you be any more short sighted than to say this to Trump??

(Lets deport Faiz Shakir next)

Dishonest article. The stay only applies to those that already have a visa.

The “judge” just said we can’t deport them ...yet. She knows it’s his Constitutional prerogative and that she will be overturned and they don’t have to be let into the country to roam free.
