I remember that story. But this woman wasn’t driving. And she didn’t text them. Text to 911 is rarely available.
That is a total strawman. Neither I, nor the person I originally replied to said anything about texting while driving, only testing from within a moving car. Moreover, I never said anything about texting 911. Just texting from a vehicle.
I don't mind a healthy debate, or others disagreeing with me, but please have the intellectual integrity to not make up what I said.

Sorry, the original poster did say a moving vehicle, and that wouldn’t make any sense. There is technology out there to cut off texting while driving, which is the problem. Sorry, I assumed the first post was about driving and not a moving vehicle which is what he actually posted. My apologies to you.
For your Winning List.
Buried deep in the news is this story of how Trump cut costs of $181,000,000,000.00 on Day 1.
That’s AMAZING! So much winning (but I’m not tired of it yet)
Thanks for the reply :)
Like you, I’m ok with parents or employers using text blocking tech for drivers, as long as it remains voluntary. The problem is, you can rest assured, somebody will try to make it mandatory and probably succeed in doing so.
So, that means that the cop would not even have to put down her donut to issue you a ticket. Thank God that little bit of tyranny has been blocked, if only for a while.
Yes, and you bet that a “vehicle ID” will be transmitted too so the cops don't even have to be there.
It would also replace license plate readers and make tracking a lot easier. It is one item where a bit of strategically placed tinfoil could actually work..:^)
I would like a lot of things. Just sayin’
I agree.
GO TRUMP!!! Do that 55 more times and we’ll zero out the $10 Trillion in additional debt that 0burka piled on over the last eight years.
Great idea! But the cell phone itself should be disabled while the vehicle is turned on...period! Many lives would be saved every year!
Let me guess, you have stock in TomTom or Garmin and can't stand the thought of someone using a cell to navigate?
Or, I suppose you believe the only people in moving vehicles are the drivers and in your nanny state of mind passengers in a vehicle should be denied the ability to use a cellphone because of _____________ (I'm sure you'll insert a feel-good reason).
Or perhaps there would never be an instance where a person would want to have a vehicle 'on' and their cellphone on....like an elderly person with a flat tire caught in the heat calling for assistance, someone stuck in the snow calling for assistance, or someone driving in distress needing to call the police.
No, in your worldview, we need government to determine what is best -at least how you see it as "best."
Rather than holding people accountable for their actions - government needs to just impose its will on everyone.......that's why we're in this mess with $trillions of regulatory costs and out of control tort lawsuits.
There are risks with everything in life....part of the social contract is we don't need government to attempt to keep us safe from ourselves at every step.
If you feel differently, I'm sure the central planners in Havana or Pyongyang would be happy to listen to your ideas and would welcome you with the open arms of solidarity, comrade.
I find it ironic your FR handle is short for "resist tyranny."
Take deep breaths...
