McCain, Again the Maverick, Challenges President Trump
The Wall Street Journal ^ | January 30, 2017 | Gerald F. Seib

Posted on 01/31/2017 11:21:08 AM PST by JeepersFreepers

Sen. McCain has served notice he is the Republican lawmaker most willing to defy the new Republican president.

In just over a week’s time, Mr. McCain has called the new Trump ban on immigration from a set of Muslim-majority countries a recruiting boon for Islamic State radicals; threatened to codify Russian economic sanctions into law to prevent Mr. Trump from lifting them; called the president’s decision to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership “a serious mistake”; and called the idea of imposing a 20% tariff on imports from Mexico to pay for a border wall “insane.”

The senator also served noticed that he will fight any effort to reinstate waterboarding or other forms of torture in interrogation of terror suspects; and declared he may oppose the Trump nominee for budget director because of his past opposition to military spending and troop deployments in Afghanistan.

In short, frenetic as the new president has been, Mr. McCain is matching him step for step.

The only reason I can figger Arizonans, in my experience pretty good people, keep sending this jack hyena back to Congress is that he brings things back to AZ.
President Trump’s only recourse may be to use the powers of the presidency to start taking things away from Arizona. Juan won’t care as long as the MSM keeps stroking him and the cocktail party invites from `rats keep arriving.

He was for Obama's ban before he was against Trump's ban.

He never had any intention of winning.
He was the only Presidential candidate I’ve ever seen endorse his opponent.

The Wall Street Journal has sink so low.

It used to be one of my most respected papers.

That may have been in error, but it’s clear that it’s just terrible these days.

I owned a Maverick. My first car. Rusted out at the ripe age of 4 years.

It appears that this particular Maverick has also rusted out.

I am so tired of hearing him being called a “maverick.”

He is way past his “fresh by” date, or whatever it is called.

He really sat by and let the media trash Sarah Palin. It is a real shame, because she could have been of service to her country.

IIRC, she even said she didn’t want to get involved with the Trump campaign because she didn’t want to hurt his chances.

Nice going, McCain.

Yep.

McCain is not now, nor has he ever been, a “maverick”. McCain is, in all probability, owned by the DNC through blackmail. He dances to their string pulls.

Imo, it begs the question: What is McCain’s involvement in the pizzagate activities?
