ITHACA, N.Y. -- After nearly two hours of public comment and at least 30 speakers in favor of a newly proposed ordinance, Ithaca's Common Council unanimously voted to add teeth to its Sanctuary City policy, which was first passed in 1985, for Salvadoran and Guatemalan refugees
City officials, including police officers, are now specifically directed to not ask for a person's immigration status unless the person is actively committing a crime related to their status. The legal ordinance means that local law enforcement will not enforce federal immigration laws.

Dentures are in their future.
Ithaca is about to get their teeth knocked out.
#5, let’s see how much they love it when they and they alone have to pay for it...
Shut off the spigot!
Any attempt to obtain social services or a job would make a Criminal Alien commit mutliple felonies by filing fraudulent SSI Number on employment documents and Federal Tax Withholding Forms.
Or attempts at Social Services
Or Attend a College Or University
Or apply for Pell Grant Funding
If they are here Illegally, in order to work or get support by default they MUST commit Fraud.
“These officials should be charged criminally with harboring illegal aliens.”
I’m pretty sure he’s on top of this, based upon President Trump’s position, however, it wouldn’t hurt to remind Senator Sessions of what the Communists in Ithaca are up to:

:)
You know better than that. You better hightail it out of there or close your eyes to all their idiotic ideas. What on earth is a COMMON COUNCIL? Is that anything like a CITY COUNCIL in any other city - a normal city anyway?
“”::unless the person is actively committing a crime related to their status””::
What on earth does that even mean? How about robbing a bank? How about throwing a brick through a store window? How about a “hit and run”? How about driving an automobile without a license/registration or insurance? Are any of those related to their ILLEGAL STATUS? Probably not!
WHAT would be related to their status? Is there any chance the lake could swamp the whole city and put it out of its misery? Of course, the two worst havens of all (Cornell and IC) are up high on the hills so those idiots wouldn’t be affected, would they?
How do you stand it?
I think that if any of their illegals commit any crime outside of their city, the city should be held legally accountable.

You have to go back Jolene.
I moved away years ago but still keep track of the shenanigans going on there, in large part to illustrate what happens when you let these types take over.
Really, forget the border. I’d like to see a wall around Ithaca.
I live near enough to Ithaca.
If any illegal commits a crime affecting me, I intend to do exactly that: sue Ithaca because they lured illegals into this area.
Again with the crying about alleged Green Card holders being stranded abroad. Always “my sick momma...poppa... camel, what ever.
In the past Green Card holders desiring or having a need to travel abroad had to apply for a Re-Entry permit well in advance of departure date. Reason for travel, where and with whom you were staying. The was to conducted an updated security check, basic police blotter stuff. Proof of payment of income tax was a critical item. You owed IRS, no tickee for you.
That Re-entry Permit looked nothing like a US Passport, nor did it obligate the US Embassy or Consulate to protect your rights as if you were a citizen. In the late 60s intent to travel to Europe entailed applying for visas. France, as an example required that your return air fare ticket be stamped non-refundable and proof of the amount of money you would be carrying, along with some other bureacratic hurdles. They really didn’t want stateless people visiting them. West German requirements were much the same.
So how were all these sob sisters able to travel.
Current State Dept needs a serious Clorox cleaning from top to bottom.
