Its not as if many churches - both liberal and conservative - havent been actively involved in politics for decades. Getting away with the law might eliminate the hypocrisy and double-standards and deviousness.
Maybe some hypocrisy is unavoidable when religion and politics intersect.
We should think twice before doing something that would allow churches and other charities to become even more politicized.

That's a legitimate point, but I think the current law is too susceptible to unequal application and enforcement.

This sly, slipping something under the table bit has got to stop. Let churches and charities boldly come out and proclaim their political views.
