OMG!!! you are killing me!!!
I’m glad you included the bipolar junction transistor — wouldn’t want to discriminate against semiconductors — but you left out occluded fronts. Discrimination against the Weatherpersons.
On the day I was born,
The nurses all gathered round,
And they gazed in wide wonder,
At the joy they had found,
Then the head nurse spoke up,
Said Dress this one like a girl, cause itd be mighty judgmental to just acknowledge its a boy!
Bows on the boy,
And pink frilly lace too,
Never a mention of Jesus,
Lest the Holy Spirit break through,
Come on and defend them pretty babies,
So they can make up their own minds,
And maybe with all us progressives,
Also be Left Behind!
(pretty sure George Thorogood might not approve...)
The use of “gender” as a synonym for “sex” makes it impossible to have a rational debate about this topic. Even your (otherwise great) graphic makes that mistake.
“Sex” is biological, and is indeed binary (with a tiny proportion of exceptions — eg. people with XXY or XYY chromosomes). “Gender” is a social-psychological construct — and is indeed “fluid”. They are not the same thing, and this matters.
For instance, in the case of integrated change rooms, it’s not the “gender” of the users that matters — it’s the “sex”. A biological female “man”, can’t make another woman pregnant — but, a biological male, who “identifies as female” can rape an actual female. It’s impossible to make that distinction, if one uses “gender” as a synonym for “sex”. And, that muddling of the issues was the whole purpose of changing the language — brought to us by those who read “1984” as a how-to manual.
