Because the Muslim men feel threatened that their women would find a male lover who would satisfy their needs better. Their thinking is, by removing the clitoris the women will lose most of the pleasure during intercourse and thus are less likely to stray into outside relationships.

I think the term circumcision may be unfortunate. It could easily be compared to something that happens to men here, not all that big of a deal as a quality of life issue.
Another words, people could think it’s a procedure on women that does not harm them.
