But why was this not mentioned during the election campaign?
My conjecture: they had the story back then but decided not to use it. They are using it now is press is scraping the bottom of the fakes news barrel.
It was used right in the beginning and it didn’t gain any traction...so now they think it will...will not work, no matter what they do or say, President Trump is President of the United States of American and that’s all there is to it!!!
The lie was apparently bought in whole by a reporter from my hometown newspaper, The Arizona Republic.
They are 100% fake ads made last year.

So no one bothered to investigate if Fred Trump had even contemplated a run for mayor — he never had.
And guess who FIRST circulated the phony ads in the first place… longtime Hillary Clinton aide and serial liar Sidney Blumenthal, who first mentioned them in the London Review of Books, where it was then spread — unquestioned — by dozens of so-called “journalists” ....”
I will not argue that point. Or that anything was going to be done by the”free press”, or the weak-kneed Republicans in Congress, or any damned federal judge, or.... Well, you get the point.

My Mom hated the Yankees, so I grew up a Mets fan. I too remember when they won the World Series just a few weeks before the election, and Lindsay acted like he was on the roster, for goodness sake. “They said we couldn’t do it . . .” blah blah blah.
As a side note, you probably recall the rivalry with Baltimore, as the Jets, Mets, and Knicks (in the semi finals) beat Baltimore teams to win the championship in 1969-70 !
