Hundreds Of Scientists Urge Trump To Pull Out Of A 25-Year-Old UN Environmental Treaty

Hundreds of scientists and policy experts sent a letter to President Donald Trump asking him to withdraw from a major United Nations environmental treaty ratified during the Bush administration.

More than 300 eminent scientists signed the letter to Trump, delivered Thursday, arguing he should pull out of the UN Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) because it targets carbon dioxide — a gas essential for life.

CO2 “is not a pollutant but a major benefit to agriculture and other life on Earth,” reads the petition, obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Observations since the UNFCCC was written 25 years ago show that warming from increased atmospheric CO2 will be benign — much less than initial model predictions.”

Trump promised to pull out of the Paris agreement on global warming, which went into effect in November 2016. President Barack Obama signed the U.S. up to cut greenhouse gases 26 to 28 percent.

How can this be? 98% of the scientists (they asked) agreed that CO2 is a planet killer.

(Life itself would be impossible without CO2)

I’m hoping that more and more scientists will get on board now that the threat of “no grant for you” has been lifted.

CO2 “is not a pollutant but a major benefit to agriculture and other life on Earth,” reads the petition, obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Instead of teaching the carbon cycle to the last generation, we got the Lion King and the "circle of life." Science has effectively been replaced with religious environmentalism.

Plants can’t live without it.
We should get out of all UN garbage treaties that do nothing but run up our production cost and send our money elsewhere to support evil enemy bureaucrats.

Anyone who paid attention in their elementary school science class knows that plants convert co2 to the oxygen we breath.

Trump should withdraw the United States from every environmental treaty. Environmentalism has long since become nothing more than disguised Communism.

Environmentalism has long since become nothing more than disguised Communism.

Even the UN admits that:

"This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model, for the first time in human history.

"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the industrial revolution. That will not happen overnight and it will not happen at a single conference on climate change, be it COP 15, 21, 40 - you choose the number. It just does not occur like that. It is a process, because of the depth of the transformation."
--Christiane Fugueres, Executive Secretary of UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change)

Exactly! CO2 IS life. It is why we are so green -- as in the color green, not the phony baloney environmental "green".

The treaty was ratified way back then, and those who ratified became parties to the treaty.

Subsequently, they would begin having a conference of the parties(COP) to pursue the treaty. The COPs themselves are not a treaty and don't require being ratified.

So Kyoto was COP3, it didn't require ratification and subsequently GW Bush unsigned it.

Likewise, COP22 Paris didn't require ratification either. COP 24 is 2017 in Bonn.

The basic treaty is about global warming and the COPS are about achieving the treaty. So COP 22 in Paris was/is significant only because all the parties to the treaty recognized that the price of renewable energy has fallen and will continue to fall and they could commit

Pursuant to that the GOP Congress would pass the Ryan budget in DEC 2015, after Obama signed the COP22, in which they extended the renewable tax credits for 5 years, but taper off after 5 years..

Now, they are shoveling the money at batteries. Mucho dinero going to the natl labs and universities. This year they will probably implement a tax credit for homeowners and small business to buy behind the meter batteries.
