Ted Cruz Says Another SCOTUS Vacancy Is Just Months Away
Daily Caller ^ | 02/23/2017

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz anticipates another vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court will arise in a matter of months.

“I think we’ll have another Supreme Court vacancy this summer,” Cruz said at the Conservative Political Action Conference Thursday. “If that happens, as much as the left is crazy now, they will go full Armageddon meltdown because the next vacancy is where we’ll have the ability to act and restore basic constitution protections.”

Though Cruz was not more specific, as a former law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist, he enjoys access to a network of former clerks privy to the plans of their former bosses.

Rumors have abounded since fall 2016 that Justice Anthony Kennedy may seriously be mulling retirement.

The Trump administration has quietly encouraged Kennedy to retire in recent weeks, sending signals meant to coax him into leaving the bench.

Other rumors have suggested Justice Clarence Thomas is preparing to depart the bench. His wife, Ginni Thomas, has expressly disavowed such suggestions.

He missed his chance at the presidency. I’m sure he’d be satisfied with a high court seat.

The two hags that “Obama The Imposter” put on the Court will have to be replaced.

Either a lefty is dying, or its a Republican - they are the ones who would retire during a Republican Administration.

Kennedy is most likely (Gorsuch was his clerk/protege), or maybe Roberts has a skeleton in the closet, that he wants to keep there.

John G. Roberts (R), Chief Justice, 62
Anthony M. Kennedy (Rino), Associate Justice, 79
Clarence Thomas (R), Associate Justice, 68
Ruth Bader Ginsburg (D), Associate Justice, 84 on March 15th (has had colon cancer in 1999, Pancreatic cancer in 2009, and heart surgery in 2014).
Stephen G. Breyer (D), Associate Justice, 78
Samuel Anthony Alito (R), Jr., Associate Justice,, 66
Sonia Sotomayor (D), Associate Justice, 62
Elena Kagan (CPUSA), Associate Justice, 56

@POTUS should nominate 2 or 3 Supremes now for “pre-screenings”. Then when a justice retires, the Senate can just vote on 1 of them.

“Scott Baio called in...”

It was funny when Scott told Rush his last name. Rush only knew the caller as “Scott from Hollywood” until the caller told him his last name was Baio. By the end of the call, they were arranging golf dates.

Yes, I liked that too. It was a hoot to listen to.

I got the impression Scott is kind of a local golf course hacker. Not trying to put down his game, but it didn’t seem like he was a country club type of guy.

His assessments were top drawer. He knew the issues.

He seems like a guy I’d enjoy playing a round with, perhaps having a beer or six with.

BTW: He’s actually Scott from the San Fernando Valley, or a town on the West end of it.

Ginsburg has had a halting way of speaking in the last few years but I heard her again recently and that seems to have noticeably improved. Supposedly she works out with a trainer every day. She obviously has no plans to retire, although she must have been gambling on Hillary winning. The falling asleep thing might relate to her prior cancer treatment, which seems to have been effective. Clearly no one of that age can count on anything, but if Cruz has any inside information about this summer, it's probably about another justice.

“She should “be retired”.”

You need to “pray” harder!

Ginsburg recently said she’s staying through next year, but is taking it one year at a time.

And she's lying. The only way she's going to leave is when she keeps over.

“I didn’t say I want her dead.”

Well, I do! She’s long overdue to go. I “pray” it doesn’t take much longer. She’s a criminal who’s been allowed to be a SCOTUS Justice. That is a travesty that is long overdue for a permanent remedy. We should make our “prayers” count for something of value.
