You know, it’s almost as if Trump is attempting to neuter McAuliffe? Hmmm?
Well I think McAuliffe is merely acting in his role as Chairman of the National Governors’ Assn. Many libs will be complete a-holes any chance they get, but as head of the bi-partisan NGA I think McAuliffe is simply playing his role appropriately. I doubt that this promises a better Terry McAwful in the future, though!
Yeah, that would definitely be to much to ask of the guy! :-D

McAwful is definitely running in 2020.
It makes sense for McAuliffe to be that way. There are 33 Republican governors, so if he were partisan in this role he would be voted out. Second, Trymp wants to return more power toe states, and that strengthens the governors. Third, he wants to give the governors more control over social issues (transgender bathrooms, etc.), so a guy like McAuliffe can pander to the far left and still play nice with a federalism-oriented President. And finally, the governors are making their career — at least for now — outside of Washington. The rest of the country, except for a very few places, is not radical left wing, and the governors association has to reflect that.
