Poll Shows Surprising Bay Area Support For Key Trump Immigration Policies

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — An exclusive new Survey USA poll offered a stunning snapshot of where the Bay Area stands on immigration Monday, with the new numbers revealing that more local residents are backing President Trump’s policies than you might think.

The KPIX 5 Survey USA Poll showed more than half of people support a key element of the President’s immigration policy.

53 percent said local law enforcement should always contact federal authorities about illegal immigrants who commit violent crimes.

The even bigger surprise was the number of Bay Area Hispanics who supported notifying the feds. While the mayors of San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland have all pledged to remain sanctuary cities, many people in the Bay Area are all for local law enforcement communicating with immigration agents.

When it comes to serious drug related crimes, Bay Area residents — including Bay Area Hispanics — agreed ICE agents should be kept informed.

70 percent of respondents said yes, ICE should always be notified about serious drug offenders.

That number included a whopping 83 percent of independents, 78 percent of Republicans and 63 percent of Democrats.

If Trump is winning with this in San Francisco, he's winning it everywhere.

I live on the San Francisco Peninsula, and I’m surprised. The level of liberal indoctrination that goes on here is incredible, but this is just so obvious, that even the Bay Area denizens can’t help but understand. This is a key battle that Trump should press to the end, all of the sanctuary cities will eventually cave.

Legal latinos are undermined by illegal latinos.

The reason Hispanics want the feds notified is because they are often victims of illegals. Maybe even moreso than the general populations.

This is also why Trump’s not going after dreamers, yet. Move first on the popular issues to take away the dems fire and then once you’ve established the rule of law again then hit them on the rest.

I spent a few days in Oakland earlier this month. Winos and dopers all over downtown. San Diego was even worse if you can believe it.

Not sure why this is surprising. Nobody wants to compete with people who will work 12 hour days for $2.00 an hour.

Exactly.

They’re the ones most effected.

Who knows. Maybe, Californians are finally waking up and have had enough!!
Just think how different California might be, once President Trump purges The Golden State of scores of illegals (plus cleans up the fraudulent voter rolls)!!!

Hispanic people know who the bad guys are in their neighborhoods ... they want them out for their safety...Trump knew this a year and a half ago. And there were many more Hispanic Trump voters than was expected.

The size of the numbers in the survey is what’s a shocker....Trump has the support of a lot more Americans than the MSM would have you believe.

In the greater San Francisco area, there are many right thinking individuals. They are too busy working and raising children to be noticed like the paid protesters. The main SF newspapers used to have contests to award the best radio programs. Good ‘ol Lee Rodgers and Melanie Morgan would always win. They won so often that the media eventually canceled the contest.

VIOLENT CRIMES.

It’s a start, but it’s a lot lot different than the percentages for “non criminal” illegals.

It’s actually Not a good number, if 47 percent think illegals who commit violent crimes shouldn’t be reported and deported.

That was my thought as well... ‘only 53% think local law enforcement should contact the Feds when an illegal is suspected of committing a violent crime?!’

Then again, only 58% of Texans felt local law enforcement should notify the Feds regarding illegal aliens suspected of violent crimes... difference is in Texas, 40% thought the locals should just launch them back across the Rio Grande with a catapult.
