Viewers nationwide strongly approved of President Trump’s speech Tuesday night, with many Democrats joining Republicans in calling it “presidential” and positive in tone. Republicans and Independents found it “unifying,” though Democrats were slower to come around on that measure.
The President gained support for his policy plans among viewers: Interviewed before and after the address, they came away from it more positive on his ideas for the economy, immigration, terrorism, crime and Obamacare.
As is often the case in addresses to Congress, those who watched were more likely to be from the president’s party – in this case, Republicans. And they described a president they felt was keeping campaign promises and offering an “inspiring” message.
While half of Democrats found the speech “divisive,” about one-third of them also said Mr. Trump was “specific” and “knowledgeable”; neither label drew a majority, but nonetheless sizeable numbers compared to the more negative reactions Democrats have had to other aspects of his presidency.
And viewers of all stripes described the speech as at least somewhat positive in tone.
Overall, most watchers approved of the speech. Republicans did tune in to watch it in much greater numbers than Democrats (as a president’s party typically does) which bolstered those approval numbers. Forty percent of Democrats at least somewhat approved; 18 percent strongly approved.

When Trump said we support Israel, Republicans stood while the Dems sat without clapping. You could almost hear them saying “Boo, we hate Jews”. But some Dems actually did stand and clap for some things he said.
Caution: 1 in 5 of those democrats who had the courage to watch it. Not ALL dems.

I, did see the entire speech this morning, from a YouTube posting, and am quite pleased and proud.
Notice they managed to slip in (twice) that more repubs then dems were watching? Do you think they did that when Obongo was making any of his “Greatest Speeches in History”?
And yet, Hitlery demands THE PRESIDENT excoriate those perpetuating anti Semitic hate crimes. We all know it’s the Dems and Muzzies who hate the Jews so much. Trump calls them family and is so much more supportive of Israel than these traitors.
When liberals refer to anti-Semitism, they’re including only Arabs, not Jews. Jews in Israel are no more Semites to them than black Republicans are blacks. Instead they’re Zionists to be hated, but using a definition of Zionism that the Nazis also used. And this connects liberals to Islam.

I disagree. Most of the speech, the Dems didn’t stand or clap, but I saw some get up when he mentioned Israel.
Trump just converted off another 5% of Dhimmicrats.

She didn’t have to show up, she wanted to show up. Kudos to her for doing so, for herself and her country.
Add that to the independents and last night was a disaster for democrats. You can not win elections with only catering to the most radical of your party... that part now controls the democrats and they are so vocal and strong willed they can not put them back into the box. This part of their party with their awful behavior outside of what Americans consider polite will never win over Independents and the more liberal Republicans and they are losing a good portion of their own party.
They can not use the younger generation of their party on tv because they are too radical and they can not go forward with the old guard. The democrat party is in a huge mess even with the MSM behind them.
