Huckabee goes off on DOJ ‘slush fund scheme’: Worse than a mafia shakedown
BizPac Review ^ | March 2, 2017 | Frieda Powers

A Justice Department slush fund scheme under former resident Obama reportedly funneled billions of dollars to leftist activist groups in what Mike Huckabee said was “worse than a mafia shakedown.”

...

The practice was widely abused under the Obama administration, with liberal groups like La Raza and the National Urban League receiving some of the slush fund money

...

Virginia Congressman Robert Goodlatte and Sen. James Lankford, both Republicans, have sponsored legislation to end the practice, which investigators have found accounted for $3 billion paid to “non-victim entities

Who allocated the funds and who received them?

You can bet that a healthy fraction of that cash made its way back to the DNC through law firms that provided services to those groups (i.e. immigration and civil rights attorneys).

I'm not a lawyer or an expert on government policy, but these transactions sound a lot like illegal gifts to favored constituents, bypassing congressional budget authority. And this is a LOT of money.

And, of course, THE LIBERAL MEDIA DON'T GIVE A DAMN!!!!!!!

Why is legislation needed to end this practice? It sounds patently illegal. It allows a division of the Executive Branch to disburse funds without congressional approval.

"The Trump administration has to bring Huckabee on board. His observations usually get right to the point, yet he never undermines the message. His TV experience would be an excellent asset for pushback against the maniacs."

I agree; I've always thought he makes a good case for whatever point he's trying to make. But a lot of Freepers detest "the Huckster."

Appoint Huckabee to a special prosecutor for this DOJ “slush fund” graft, for the Fannie Mae “revenue divergence”, for the GM bond “embezzlement”, and the USDA “pigford settlement graft”. All these were ripoffs by the Dems that were corrupt payoffs using government funds to their constituencies to keep them politically beholden to their “masters” on the Dem plantation.

You know this? How?

Trump has said repeatedly that he is not ever going to broadcast his military plans in public before the fact. Why would he handle a coup any differently?

There are both white and blackhats in the intelligence agencies. The white hats are competent. SOME of the black hats have been dismissed. Sting operations have been put in place for others. I recall that at some point in the campaign, Trump mentioned using written communications directly between parties to communicate for security reasons. Look at all the experienced (and, IIRC, at least one active duty)military officers on our side. Think they are just sitting scared in some office letting this all go down?

If the zer0 sedition is so successful, why has it failed to take Trump down over a two-year period? Everyone knows the protests are funded, the OFA is funded by both stolen tax-payer funds, Soros, Rothschilds et al. Great security on their part, isn’t it? Meanwhile, the internet investigators continue to ferret out the zer0 ops against Trump. Publicly exposed activities lose their purpose to simulate a popular resistance. Trump’s numbers go up. Media numbers fall. Neuter the propaganda arm and the odds change.

A cursory search around the web shows the US military has very good tech for surveillance. Drones, little mini-satellites, even nano-dust for tracking. DARPA likely has much, much more. How secure is zer0’s bunker? How certain can he be that he’s secure? All those OFA offices can’t be 100% secure. Look at O’Keefe’s operations. Look at the Awan brothers scandal. If an internet investigator like George Webb has the information he puts out in public, just imagine what the administration knows. 30k known operatives in his *army*. How trained are they in anything but street tactics? They need instruction sheets, which have been exposed in public. Great op sec.

Can they evade surveillance and digital intercepts competently, all the time, everywhere? Do the progs competently vet everyone who joins their operation? All those millennials on their phones 24/7. Think those phones get checked several times a day for incursions? O’Keefe hacked email accounts. The NSA can turn a phone into a mic. Would they tell the public if they had done this?

Comparing Trump, who fights back hard every time he is attacked with W who kept shut while becoming friends w/Clintons and zer0s is beyond ridiculous. There is no coup with Sessions. Trump has tweeted yesterday that Sessions is innocent and has Trump’s confidence. No scalp. All Sessions promised was recusal into cases involving the election. Big whoop. It failed, which is why the usual subjects are howling at the moon for more, more, more. There is ample reason to believe Flynn wasn’t a scalp, either. He may have taken one for the team in order to smoke out more players.

Personally, I think ops are ongoing, our side is biding its time and eventually, this will all be a sordid moment in history without being successful.

Your confidence in the administration and POTUS is duly noted.

“The list goes on and on - Trump needs to fight fire with fire. I am tired of the nonstop fabricated hysteria by the left so President Trump - the other side has called the dance and its time to get on the floor!”

We are all tired of it.

However, it will continue for the 8 years that Trump is Potus. That is what happens when we live in a country with freedom of speech.

The rats and mediots never stopped trashing President Reagan.

They trashed GW for the 8 years he was in office and for the 8 years Obozo was in office.

They did trash Bush and Bush did not fight back. I would have no problem at all with Trump simply saying if we are going to play partisan politics I will match your investigation with another investigation.

Step back for a second and look at the potential -

Sessions meets Ambassador as a Senator vs tens of millions donated to Clinton foundation in return for favors from the Sec of State

Steve Bannon simply breathes air vs DOJ diverts fines to a progressive slush fund

Kelly Anne Conway puts feet on oval office sofa vs prior administration requests FISA court to authorize wiretaps on Trump campaign officials.

I get that the media won’t let up, but rationally examine the list and ask yourself if the left in congress would keep this up if we matched them one for one.

Sue and settle is a huge scam.

It absolutely is and the 0bama DOJ exploited it to the max. Every perpetrator involved should be prosecuted and locked up but we know that won't happen.

I'm confident it will come to a screeching halt with President Trump and AG Sessions.

Part of their strategy is to get Trump and his people responding to their fake/junk and often not even news instead of doing their job.

We have to take a proactive stance and pound the mediots when they come out with fake news or like posting pictures of a lying Rat $inator with the Russian ambassador after she said she had never talked to the Russian ambassador.

I see a similar lack duty re our responses to how long it takes Jim and his people to finish raising money each quarter. If we really believed in Free Republic and used it, there would be no need for Freepathons. We would be monthly or quarterly donors.

Too many so called conservatives want someone else to donate and to do what we need to do re challenging the mediots.

If people actually voted for Trump, they need to support him and not desert him or put a knife in his back.

In a little more than a month as Potus, he has done a great job in starting to remove/delete the bad crap that Clinton, GW and Obama left us.

That is why the left wing and the mediots are out to remove Trump. They know that eventually, their gravy train will be derailed by Trump.

I don’t think Trump supporters are abandoning him over this. In fact, I think the media is overplaying their hand and it will backfire on them.

However, I still believe some things from the past administration need to be looked into (for real - not the bluster of congressional oversight) so I think Trump can do two things -

He can drain the swamp as he said he would and order investigations (this is my preference)

or

He can play political hardball and tell the democrats - fine, if you are going to move on my administration with these manufactured scandals, I have nothing to fear. A special prosecutor for me = a special prosecutor for you. There is far more smoke (even fire) on the scandals I mentioned above vs this Russian nonsense.

I will step out on a limb here and suggest the democrats will fold like a cheap tent with a quid pro quo on investigations.

Governments shouldn’t be giving grants, slush money, etc. to private advocacy organizations, period, even if they’re on our side (Heritage Foundation, Tea Party, etc.).
