Looking at the posts on this thread, I see alot of wishful thinking. We have medical evidence that radiation damages cells - the more exposure, the more damage. There have been accusations before that there is an issue with cell phone use so manufacturers began reporting amount of radiation produced by handsets and I used this information to reduce my exposure in case science should eventually reveal harmful effects (that’s happened before, right?). No pickets or protesting on my part - I read it, compared the information provided with what I had previously read about radiation exposure (state of the art research and simple science courses in college). So I see studies like this and they don’t evoke laughter - I’d like to know more, I’d like to review the literature to see if it’s based on a large sample, reliable measures, medical studies etc. If it’s not I’ll disregard. But on this thread, the only “science” needed is that everybody likes their cell phones, uses cell phones etc. “Like my cellphone” or “need my cell phone” is not science. I hope those reading this thread and erupting in laughter might consider slowing down enough to check the quality (if any) of the research first and THEN laughing if it is just bozos being bozos.
As soon as I saw ‘California’ the information went into the virtual circular file.
That’s just nuts if you can’t carry a cellphone in your front pocket because of radiation.
A good friend of mine has an “anomaly” in his lower GI track.
He loves his cellphone and until I told him, almost always kept it in his pants pocket.
Warning, warning, Will Robison! Breathing and eating will cause growing, aging, learning, and other regular and anomalous phenomena that happen often and seldom during both night and day!
This is bullcrap. Stop trying to scare ignorant people. Ask someone who knows. I’ve been an RF engineer almost 30 years. I’ve measured and calculated RF emissions on too many products to count.
You are spot on. I listed all the things that generate EMF to show that it is a common thing in our modern age. Tying it to cancer plays on people’s ignorance. The fear of cancer will cause a hysteria to rid the environment of EMF. It will be much like the hysteria to rid the earth of CO2 pollution. We will see the rise of the EMF police.
Once I was operating a grinder on some metal work I need to prep for painting. I heard a knock on my door and my two neighbors from across the street were standing in front of me with looks ready to kill. They told me the “static” from my grinder was knocking out their football game. The EMF police will be worse.
This “static” comes from everything. Our car’s ignition system creates lots of EMF as I found out as a kid, generating radio interference with my Model-T ignition coil and later, my Van De Graff generator. The Van De Graff generator replicates lightning and it is hard to imagine how they will ban lightning.
These “static” police will find EMF in everything, as my post pointed out. They will start with calling cell phones hazardous and use it to justify more action. My Model-T ignition coil and my Van De Graff generator will be illegal. Homes will have to be constructed with Faraday shields and internal combustion engines will be banned.
