Well my wife and I are extremely healthy. Rate got up to $1300 a month with $6,000 deductibles each. We no longer have health insurance (we have an alternative).

About 4 years ago, my husband had a gall bladder attack. They kept him the hospital for 4 days delaying the surgery. The whole time the nurse had her little iPad itemizing and racking up the charges.
Our insurance, even then, was much better so we met the deductible and it was done. But we kept seeing the bills--well over 100k.
