There was a story posted last year pointing out that the Vatican Bank had been suspended from the SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) system in early 2013 and was immediately reinstated upon Benedict's resignation. Let's fact it, that had the markings of a quid pro quo.
