I believe they had to have someone here to vouch for them, agree to support or help support them as well-—they also assimilated into our culture and were proud to be and raise their kids as Americans-—that was before we citizens allowed politicians to run the show, steal all they could and give the rest away to ensure getting the vote to re-elect them to office again to steal more, give the rest away to insure re-election again and again—and so it goes and here we are-—if I had to fight in WW3 (too old at 94) as I did for 5 yrs of WW2 to “protect and defend” this mess, you would never find me as Trump will never be able to rid us of crooked politicians who steal the country blind—cheers
