I wish people who excerpt would take the time to excerpt the actual point of the article, not just the first paragraph or two. Take that up with Free Republic's excerpt rules.
Any particular reason why you don't like clicking on the link?

Nothing in the rule says you can’t excerpt from parts of the article other than the first two paragraphs. I do it all the time.
I prefer not to click on links sometimes because I don’t always want to give hits to the particular website. Other times it’s because I’d like to read a summary before I decide to click on the link.
