The Kagans Are Back; Wars to Follow
Consortiumnews.com ^ | March 15, 2017 | Robert Parry

Exclusive: The neocon royalty Kagans are counting on Democrats and liberals to be the foot soldiers in the new neocon campaign to push Republicans and President Trump into more “regime change” wars, reports Robert Parry.

The Kagan family, America’s neoconservative aristocracy, has reemerged having recovered from the letdown over not gaining its expected influence from the election of Hillary Clinton and from its loss of official power at the start of the Trump presidency.

Former Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs Victoria Nuland, who pushed for the Ukraine coup and helped pick the post-coup leaders. (She is the wife of neocon theorist Robert Kagan.)

Back pontificating on prominent op-ed pages, the Family Kagan now is pushing for an expanded U.S. military invasion of Syria and baiting Republicans for not joining more enthusiastically in the anti-Russian witch hunt over Moscow’s alleged help in electing Donald Trump.

Headline is a bit misleading since there are no Kagans working in the Trump administration.

Glad to hear Victoria Nuland has resigned from foreign service.

I guess I need to pay more attention, I feel like I’ve heard of the Kagan Family.

It doesn’t say they are part of the administration. Since they endorsed Hillary they would not be expected to be part of the administration anyway.

“Kagan now is pushing for an expanded U.S. military invasion of Syria and baiting Republicans for not joining more enthusiastically in the anti-Russian witch hunt over Moscow’s alleged help in electing Donald Trump.”

These news agencies, and neocons for that matter, are going to find themselves kicked out of Russia if they don’t back off. The Duma is opening an investigation of American media involvement in Russian internal affairs.

Then me too. When I think of Kagan I’m thinking
of a troll who stumbled into the Supreme Court or that
I’m back in college when on Fridays we would usually
have a ‘keg-on’.

Like the un-recusing Supreme court justice Kagan— the name Kagan is shortened from the Russian Kaganovich. The derivation and contraction is of a Russian name.

Kaganovich is the original patronymic... and is Russian Jewish. Lazar Kaganovich was Stalin’s right hand henchman man administrator responsible for two major actions 1.) falsifying the election of Stalin as General Secretary of the USSR, instead of the popular Sergey Kirov (whom Stalin had murdered just after this), and 2.) administration of the Ukraine collectivization, who pushed for the elimination of the kulaks, and who ultimately caused the 1932-33 famine that killed 18 million Ukrainians. In short, a butcher.

imho in re: the so called neo-con Kagans and “Progress for an American Century”... these are the people, democrats all, who got us the perpetual Iraqi war who are in effect, cheerleaders for continuous militarism and internationalist/globalist agendas that further their interests— which are NOT the interests of the sovereign United States.

These would be the “bushies” pals “neo-cons” who are friends with Bill Kristol et al... and especially McCain and Linda Graham. They should be ignored, and never allowed levers of power.

Victoria Nuland was asked to leave. She has been a fixture, from Bill Clinton onward (she was Strobe Talbott— what a moron soviet enabler, intentionally of course- aide), and has had a hand in Ukrainian affairs and is a supposed “career”, loyal bureaucrat. Obviously, the Russians won’t have her representing their interest’s anymore. Neo-con indeed, what a euphemism for never working in the US sovereign interests and getting us constantly involved in ME conflicts with russians.

The Kagans fly under the radar, but are largely responsible for the Iraq war (and push for others). They get huge funding from large military suppliers. We need to elevate their names to public knowledge.

“The Kagans fly under the radar, but are largely responsible for the Iraq war (and push for others).”

Were they associated with the Bush State Dept, or DOD? Intelligence?

Because I’m pretty sure it’s those guys who are responsible for the Iraq war.

The kind of folks who propelled the “Arab Spring” and all its terrorists and jihadists across Libya and Syria, who promoted the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt......

People with an axe to grind against Russia.

Are they bitter over the Czar’s pogroms?

From the article:

"In a Washington Post op-ed on March 7, Robert Kagan, a co-founder of the Project for the New American Century and a key architect of the Iraq War, jabbed at Republicans for serving as “Russia’s accomplices after the fact” by not investigating more aggressively...."

In other words, the neocon Kagans and their regime change ideas aren't back...got it.

No, in other words, they are back trying to influence the opposition to Trump (in both parties)to fight him even harder to get their vaunted cold war with Russia restarted and regime change in Syria and Russia if possible.

I would not put the unthinkable past them, which of course would be removal of Trump by any means necessary. Because with Trump still in their, they know they will get no where. While you & I certainly hope that they will be unsuccessful, it just goes to show how deep the swamp has become in D.C.

All with the sake of feathering their nests even more, and adding to their power.

The bad guy who wanted to cut of Christopher Lambert’s head in Highlander was named Kagan, so you are probably thinking of that. s/
