One thing I’m seeing more lately, that’s pissing me off, is people who used to be “devs” now doing PM or BA work. You understand why, yes?
If they admit that they were not great “devs” I’m a lot less pissed off.

I will throw this out: I was a COBOL developer for 21 years. Often, at different companies, when discussing requrements with the internal customer, people would say, “you don’t sound like a programmer.” They meant it as a compliment. My goal was always to find out WHY they wanted stuff done, what pains they were trying to eliminate, etc. I’d put on my developer’s hat afterward, though I did consider the technical ramifications of some of the stuff they needed.
