Science centers that were supposed to be the “cornerstone” of the Department of the Interior’s “climate change response strategy” don’t have the proper controls in place to prevent wasteful spending, according to an internal audit.
The inspector general’s office found Interior Department’s climate science centers (CSC) and landscape conservation cooperatives (LCC) could be wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on duplicative research grants.
“We found that CSCs and LCCs had no formal process to coordinate the prevention of duplication in research grants, which could limit accessibility of information by Federal, State, local, and private-sector decisionmakers and place DOI at increased risk of funding duplicative research,” the IG’s office reported.
“We found inadequate internal controls and poor project tracking,” the IG’s office added.
Investigators found that these science centers did not regularly coordinate research within the Interior Department and did not share their climate data with Climate.Data.Gov as required by federal law.

Never mind the fraud, waste and abuse. Why does the Interior Dept need ‘Climate Science Centers’ and ‘Landscape Conservation Cooperatives’? Hopefully they are among the first fat to be cut from the Interior Dept budget.

Trump just sold a 112,000 acre lease offshore North Carolina to a Spanish company to put in wind mills. Trump sold it for $9 million. When they start generation they will also have to pay royalties.
He'll be selling these wind leases all up and down the atlantic, but no drilling leases.
The more windpower they generate, the less CO2 is emitted and less global warming.
CO2 does NOT contribute to “global warming”!

Each possible cause of global warming has a different pattern of where in the planet the warming occurs first and the most. The signature of an increased greenhouse effect is a hot spot about 10km up in the atmosphere over the tropics. We have been measuring the atmosphere for decades using radiosondes: weather balloons with thermometers that radio back the temperature as the balloon ascends through the atmosphere. They show no hot spot. Whatsoever.
If there is no hot spot then an increased greenhouse effect is not the cause of global warming. So we know for sure that carbon emissions are not a significant cause of the global warming. If we had found the greenhouse signature then I would be an alarmist again.

CO2 contributes less than 3.5% to total “greenhouse gases”.
Given that the variables in the primary component are incalculable, and therefore can’t be modeled, how do you pretend that the human impact the the 3.5% component can be modeled?
I know you want to argue global warming but that is irrelevant now.
The price of renewable energy has fallen so far, and will continue to fall, and over the next 10-20-30 years, renewables will replace fossil fuel.
Fossil fuel is a fuel. The more you burn, the more it costs. Renewable energy is not a fuel, it is a technology. The more you use, the less it costs. Everytime you double the number of solar panels, the price of solar panels fall by 26%. Everytime you double the number of wind turbines, the price falls by 17 percent.
