From what I’ve seen, some of the cops in England have guns and some do not. The ones that do tend to have the automatic variety and come ready for full tactical action. So yeah, an individual bobby may not have a gun, but they are always nearby. And you may also be being watched on camera, as you probably know.
I have heard every inch of London is on camera.
Well, if the average bobby is only armed with a whistle, nobody could’ve stopped the SUV and/or its driver before it mowed down those pedestrians and made it to Parliament. Guess those pedestrians didn’t rate the same kind of protection the bloody pols get.

I saw some of those at Heathrow, back in the mid-nineties. Very intimidating looking dudes, 100% alert and task focused. They could face down the terminator. I was heartened to see that England has hard men still.
