John Podesta, in bed with the Russians all along

Was there anyone more inclined to intone for guarding national security in the wake of the WikiLeaks revelations than Hillary Clinton campaign manager John Podesta? Turns out the Democrat operative was neck-deep with the Russians he intoned against all along, through a Russian-financed company called Joule.

In fact, the Russian oligarchs he's been consorting with are so dirty that even Putin is after them, blowing apart Podesta's dishonest narrative about "Russians hacked the election" and rival Donald Trump supposedly colluding with them.

Some choice quotes from Podesta last December:

"We now know that the CIA has determined Russia's interference in our elections was for the purpose of electing Donald Trump. This should distress every American."

Podesta issued his statement in response to a letter from Nancy Pelosi's daughter Christine,.

"These matters directly impact the core factors in our deliberations of whether Mr. Trump is fit to serve as President of the United States," Pelosi wrote.

Podesta's statement floats the suggestion that electors could theoretically select a different candidate for president than Donald Trump.

"The bipartisan electors' letter raises very grave issues involving our national security," Podesta said.

Podesta made these remarks even as he had benefited from U.S. tech transfers to Russia's military during the time he sat on the board of a renewable energy company called Joule and had ties to Rusnano, a financing arm known in Moscow as "Putin's baby." Podesta concealed his stock holdings to this company as he joined the Obama administration and still hasn't been held accountable for it. Yet at the same time, he was around when a lot of quid pro quo involving U.S. tech transfers to Russia was going on, raising significant questions as to whether the U.S. was sold down the river during the Obama administration.

There have been some posters here that have insisted that the Clinton campaign was the one more likely to be colluding with the Russians.

That may be true, but it is not accurate to think that all Russians are on the same side. Putin has many internal enemies, including some oligarchs who made their fortunes from privatization schemes during Bill Clinton’s administration.

All this talk about collusion with foreigners. Just remember everybody, you don’t look behind the door unless you’ve hid there yourself.

Democrats are the kings of foreign influence from paying for Obamas college days, to China funding the Clintons, to swimming in Saudi, Gulf State, and Ukrainian money.

That's probably true on a small scale. If Putin was looking for someone who would do business with him, Hillary was a good, safe bet.

The idea that Putin was trying to help Trump is based on the idea that he was playing a bigger game, trying to shake up the Western alliance with an "Operation Chaos" directed at the US, and that would mean getting Trump elected.

That's the theory anyway. It looks less and less true as time goes on.

Podesta’s in bed with Russians, and that explains his ridiculously weak password. I think he was inviting them into the DNC.

So he'd risk his side's losing the election on purpose? Unlikely.

Stupidity is always more likely than conspiracy. And easier to keep going.

We’re talking about people not even loyal to their country. Would probably throw their party under the bus too.

Let’s not forget the concerted effort to have, en masse, ex Republican officials and military write to express their opposition to Trump before the election....

And he still won.

Hillary was a bitter product, Trump was a better product.
