1200 is pretty bad to envision, and yet compared to the size of the world, it’s like a dust speck.

Because of this, one needs to be careful when identifying it. Because of the shame factor for the victims, solid evidence may take years and years to frame. And people can also joke about it all they want and it may be a sin but it’s still not a crime until someone actually does it.

I’d think a more solid approach would be along the lines of the biblical “about such things, it is a shame to be speaking.” Why should people expect to escape criticism for carelessly gabbing about things that would be an utter horror if they happened?
