Boy suspended for taking (shotgun bullet) shell casing to preschool, mom's Facebook post goes viral

An Illinois mom behind a viral Facebook post spoke to Fox 2/News 11 Wednesday.

Her son, Hunter, 4, has been suspended from his preschool for bringing a shell casing from a fired bullet to school.

He'd been at the preschool for about a year, she said, and now was in tears.

Neither she nor Hunter's dad knew it, but he found something he thought was pretty neat and he took it to school Tuesday to show his friends.

Well....when I was escorted to the office for a sit down. I was handed a tiny .22 empty brass casing. Not a "shotgun bullet". He found it on the ground, expelled from a 22 Rifle over the weekend, while Hunter was target practicing with his Police Officer Grandpa. He was so excited, and snuck it to school to show his friends. We had no idea about it.

I was handed a piece of paper. No words, just eyebrows raised in disgust at my son, explaining that his behavior warranted a 7 school day suspension. Which I still was expected to pay tuition for, of course. And a threat that if his enthusiasm for guns continued, he'd be permanently expelled.

That sounds amazing. I wish I could have done things like that in school. They were too busy trying to break my spirit.

That photo is a spent low caliber rimfire rifle casing. Shotguns don’t fire “bullets”, per se, other than slugs. And a spent shotgun shell is merely a piece of plastic tube with some brass attached to one end. A lib writer could conjure up a horror tale about it though, and make it sound as though the kid took a live Tomohawk missile to school.

The fact that the kid took a measley spent 22 shell to school, and occasioned a screaming red alert, shows the panicked, sissified, cowardly condition of what passes for school officials. Muzzie terrorist must rub their hands together in glee at the prospect of someday confronting these spineless cowards and watch them empty their bowels and bladders, just before they behead them.

Both parents have to work , in most families, just to make ends meet. Very common for little kids to be in daycare/preschool for that purpose. Guess you never had to worry about where junior’s next meal came from.

Yep. Rifles and shotguns in pickup trucks, every guy had a Buck knife on his belt. Somehow, nobody got shot or stabbed.

If a spent 22 shell is a weapon, then a sharpened crayon is a weapon.

Hey, the kid could do some damage with that 22 shell, ramming it up someone's nose. But yeah, a sharpened crayon is more effective when used like that! How times have changed. A couple decades ago local kids would wear spent casings on their keychains, bracelets and necklaces to school, with no complaints. My daughters did that at high school.

Spend rifle cartridge from a naive 4 year old: Red Alert, school goes into lockdown, child suspended.

14 year old girl raped by an 18 year old Guatamalan Illegal: School superintendent bitches about hate emails and threats and makes recommendations to law enforcement (not his job) while publically ignoring the punishment of the perp (his job).

The world is effing-crazy!

Well spoken. I wish I’d noted that outrageous contrast. Thanks.

A few years ago the Washington DC police could arrest you for having the empty case from a fired round in your possession.

Perhaps that is still true today.

“Looks like a shotgun bullet from an AK-47, possibly with a cop killing silencer. Dangerous stuff.”

And without a Geiger counter there’s no way to know if it is the more deadly nucular version.

Nothing reveals a bad law so well as its enforcement.

I think it is still true an even worse than you say. There is a recent case of a collector who had an empty case of a caliber he did not have a registered firearm in.

BOOM! instant felony charge.

Just more evidence of liberals that are smarter than everyone else...about everything. You don’t even have to ask them, they are more than happy to tell you.

A far cry from when it was pretty common to see rifles in racks in pick up trucks when I went to high school. Nobody even blinked then. And this was in the middle of Albuquerque.

Same when I was in high school in Northern Idaho. I remember that opening day of elk season, half the boys were absent. I remember that my buddy and I would get these afternoon bouts of sickness until we filled our deer tags. Everyone knew what was going on and no one cared since we both kept our grades up.

If we could only have some common sense shotgun bullet control laws.....

How about just telling the young boy that he’s not allowed to bring these to school? Wouldn’t that have been much more reasonable? Talk about overkill. When I was four, just being called to the principle’s office would have terrifying enough punishment. If I were on the school board, I would suggest a matching seven-day suspension for the administrator (without pay) to reflect on the excessive punishment administered to the child.

*****************

It didn’t take too long until people learned not to carry rifles in them.
Seems the rifles would disappear. Then you begin to see just empty racks
then it was back to no racks at all.

1939-The United States can not be invaded because there would be “a rifle behind every blade of grass”, day to day life was governed by the Ten Commandments, sexual deviancy was hounded into the shadows, excellence in education and achievement was celebrated, people came to this country to assimilate and become Americans.

2017-Pre-schooler is suspended for possessing a spent.22 cal casing, men are allowed to marry men, the mentally unstable are celebrated, business owners who do not celebrate sexual deviancy are hounded from business and their life’s savings destroyed by government, boys who “identify” as girls are destroying girls sports, foreign aliens walk across our borders and are gleefully given every sort of public assistance that can be imagined that is NOT available to the average citizen while importing everything that made their country of origin an unlivable hell hole, 18 year old illegal aliens are placed in school with pubescent girls who are then raped by the illegals and the illegals are defended by lawyers paid for by who knows who, Christianity is abolished from the public schools and centers of government while the hateful pseudo religion known as Islam is celebrated and taught in the schools and a proudly pro American and America first President is hated and loathed by half the population as well as many in his own party.

Conclusion-Our enemies don’t have to lift a finger.
We are destroying ourselves.

Now with 1,000 round automatic assault clips...

I don't know the truth of it but I heard you don't even have to reload those and they allow you to shoot forever. Since I heard it from a con-gress twit I'm rightfully skeptical. I'm open to being wrong.
