My 5th grade science project was a technical breakdown of a 30-06 rifle cartridge with various displays of live rounds, nitrocellulose gun powder, live primers, before and after bullets, the works. Got second place.
In 11th grade, I gave a demonstration speech that required a small amount of denatured alcohol and a lighter.
I, uh, used way, way too much denatured alcohol. I don’t think I scorched the ceiling but it was close.
We were videotaping the speech. On replay, the flame was so hot that the screen went white.
Pretty cool and I got a good grade.
