I know Paul Ryan personally and like him as a person. He is very warm, genuine, and not filled with himself. I think the Ryancare episode simply illuminated what had heretofore been a mystery to most. That is, where, exactly, does Paul Ryan fall on the political continuum.

I think that matter has now largely been answered.

I think Paul Ryan is socially conservative, but he is a true believer in government — government done right — in a manner similar to Democrats who genuinely believe in Socialism, if only it were done “correctly”.

I firmly believe that while many may be wringing their hands at this loss, or like Democrats, are gleeful. I think this is a good thing. I believe that as a result of this failure very good things will sprout forth. Republicans will gain their sea legs, and a new, better working relationship with Trump will spring forth resulting in some really great things getting done.

Yeah, I honestly believe that. I think we’re going to look back at this like the first ball game of the season we lost and then went on a hot streak.
