Gonna be picking and choosing rare articles to bash real conservatives? :)

good luck with that.

our president just tweeted out that he will actively work against the people who most hold our views.

That’s just great.

“work against the people who most hold our views.”

Speak for yourself. Amash called on Trump to withdraw from the presidential race in October, refused to vote for him and is against the immigration ban. If you hold the same views you are not a conservative.

The poster has a jihad against the Freedom Caucus because they wouldn’t knuckle under for the crap sandwich of Obamacare II.
His buddies wish we had left Eric Cantor in office so that the Uniparty eunuchs could have passed Rubio’s amnesty in June of 2014 to get the issue off the table for Yeb! and there would be no President Trump.

I don’t see any reason at all to stick up for anyone in the GOP until they first stick up for me at least once.

None of them have ever done a single thing for me, or stood for in any meaningful or actual way or advanced at all anything I believe in.

Show me something, boys.

This is your last chance.

Freedom Caucus voted ” yes ” to the Corker Bill giving Nukes to Iran , cloture voted TPP/TTIP as well as voted to fund Obamacare.

I take issue with Amash saying we can’t legally use country of origin to ban immigration when:

The president’s authority to declare such suspensions can been found in section 212(f) of the INA, the pertinent part of which reads as follows:

“(f) Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

Amash has just jumped the shark.

There’s a huge problem when a muslim has infiltrated a group supposedly hold our views. A muslim can never be an American at heart. AINO.

Does the Freedom Caucus really have America and Americans interests at heart?

Yes he is not a real conservative. He is just antiTrump. You could argue he is sensitive to immigration from countries like Syria and Trump's support for Israel.

Born in Grand Rapids, and raised in Kentwood, Michigan, Amash is a second-generation Arab-American of Palestinian Christian and Syrian Greek Orthodox descent.[13] His father, Attallah, is a Palestinian business owner, whose family emigrated to the United States in 1956[14] through the sponsorship of a Christian pastor and his family. His mother, Mimi, is a Syrian immigrant to the United States.[15][16]

Amash supports decreasing U.S. military spending, and believes there is significant waste in the military spending of the U.S. Department of Defense.[43] He believes only Congress has the power to declare war, criticizing President Obama's military intervention against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, and intervention in Syria, for proceeding without a Congressional declaration of war.[44][45] In 2011, Amash was one of six members of Congress who voted "Nay" on House Resolution 268 reaffirming U.S. commitment to a negotiated settlement of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict through direct Israeli–Palestinian negotiation, which passed with 407 members in support.[14][46] In 2014, he was one of eight members of Congress who voted "Nay" on a $225 million package to restock Israel's Iron Dome missile defenses, which passed with 398 members in support.[47] He supports a two-state solution to the Palestinian–Israeli conflict.[14] Amash joined 104 Democrats and 16 Republicans in voting against the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which specified the budget and expenditures of the Department of Defense,[48] calling it "one of the most anti-liberty pieces of legislation of our lifetime".[49] Amash co-sponsored an amendment to the NDAA that would ban indefinite military detention and military trials so that all terror suspects arrested in the United States would be tried in civilian courts. He expressed concern that individuals charged with terrorism could be jailed for prolonged periods of time without ever being formally charged or brought to trial.[50] On March 14, 2016, Amash joined a unanimous majority in the House to approve a resolution declaring the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) to be committing genocide against religious minorities in the Middle East (passed 383–0), but joined Representatives Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) in voting "Nay" on a separate measure creating an international tribunal to try those accused of participating in the alleged atrocities (passed 392–3).[51]

Amash is your definition of a “real conservative”? Please, explain then why Trump can’t ban people from heavily terrorist nations like the “real conservative” Amash insists, when the law explicitly says the president can ban whomever he deems a threat? Amash is a globalist demagogue and a liar.

Whine about Helicondelta or anyone who defends the president all you want (and then like a hypocrite treat every Freedom Caucus member like an untouchable god), but everyone needs to know what a snake in the grass Amash is. Thank you Helicondelta for posting this.

Number one this is an old article, but that in reality is a non issue. What is an issue is that Amash is wrong, period. It has been done by past Presidents. Carter banned anyone from Iran as a result of the embassy hostage crisis.

Even Al Jeezeera recognizes that fact.

1) President Chester A. Arthur banned Chinese immigrants in 1882.

2) President Franklin D. Roosevelt banned Jewish immigrants in 1939 during WWII,

3) President Theodore Roosevelt banned anarchists and others deemed to be political extremists in 1903

4) Communist were banned by Congress in 1950, despite being vetoed by President Harry Truman

5) President Jimmy Carter banned Iranians in 1980

6) President Ronald Reagan banned HIV positive persons in 1987

So the President has the power to ban people by multiple criteria, which includes, but is not limited to, nationality. Even Congress has the power to enact bans if they have the votes to override a Presidential veto.
