“Stop and frisk” worked. Got thousands of guns off the street and put some dangerous people/felons in jail. A well run program of detection results in more guns legitimately seized and less accidental targeting of innocent people.
If blacks in the ghettoes would anonymously phone in to the police the punks who have illegal guns, then it would make policing a lot more effective and save a lot of black lives.
However, the communist white legal apparatus put out publications that said “Don’t Talk To the Police” and gave it out to white/black rioters and black criminals, etc. Then the reds provided those arrested with smart attorneys who turned the justice system upside down (Kunstler, Kinoy, Weinglass, Ratner, and a few black radicals (Flo Kennedy, members of the Marxist National Conference of Black Lawyers (NCBL), etc.
White radicals also disrupted the judicial system, again tutored by Kunstler and company, including drug addled Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin.
I once sat in a private meeting with Kunstler when he explained his legal approach to the Chicago 7 trial. It was not to get justice for his clients but it was to discredit the judge to the point that he would mishandle the trial, to put on kabuki theater for the jury to confuse their minds, and to generally attack our court system in order to undermine it.
Look for this type of racial guilt trip to keep coming from the Marxist/ignorant Left. They have long ago abandoned “facts” when doing their writing on social issues.

Actually, the article is missing the big picture. The big picture is that the Democratic Party has destroyed inner city jobs, destroyed the education system of most large cities, and the Democratic party has made people of color dependent on government in a way that has robbed their initiative and self respect.
In such a situation where the unemployment rate for youth of color is tremendous and there are few honest father figures, young boys of color turn to the closest thing that resembles employment and “family.” Unfortunately that is drug dealing and gangs. That is why a disproportionate number of people of color are in jail. It is politics and economics.
