Glaciers are legal persons, huh? With the privilege of person-hood comes responsibility. Can the glaciers be held liable if someone gets squashed in an avalanche, or falls into a crevasse?
To: kevcol
That is the most stupidest thing I have heard in a long time.

New Zealand recently did something similar. Gave a river legal personhood.

" The courts two judges claimed Indian law must gives glaciers living entity status to keep them from melting."Frankly, I think I'd personally be a lot better off with quite a bit of melting.

This is just the first step.
The next step is to blame Americans for the glaciers demise in the World Court at the Hague.
Stern European judges will see much merit in the case, and charge Americans with crimes against humanity, which we can appease by giving them billions of dollars.

Glaciers have been melting and shrinking since the end of the last Ice Age almost 12,000 years ago.
Do they think this idiotic act is going to reverse that natural process?

India’s CO2 emissions are growing as more of the population moves out of the Stone Age.
What is India going to do about that?
Right. Not much.
