In Ithaca, you aren't hip unless you've crossed some line or another, whether it's simple stuff like wild hair colors and spikes, more advanced stuff like body modifications (piercings, stretching, cutting, misc hardware), or gone way over the line with operations (addadicktome, chopitoffame).
Heck you can find a dozen trans folks on the Commons just walking one end to the other.
