Full Title: How Trump unleashed awesome Mediterranean arsenal on Assad: Tomahawk missiles launched from US destroyers 150 miles away with pinpoint accuracy without endangering American pilots or enraging neighbouring allies
....If President Donald Trump decides to launch more strikes against Syrian regime targets, the Pentagon has many ways with which to do so. Any strike against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is likely to be conducted remotely to avoid putting US pilots in harm's way. In September 2014, US ships launched 47 Tomahawk missiles during the first night of strikes against ISIS in Syria. These missiles can also be launched from attack submarines, but the location of these vessels is secret. A barrage of Tomahawks could overwhelm any air defenses. Assad's systems are weakened after six years of war but Russia has deployed state-of-the art systems to Syria...

Sadly that is about half the Tomahawks we have in stock, thanks to Obama.
On another thread it says we have 30,000 Tomahawk missiles stockpiled.
...and one can only hope they know who they are shooting at.
If perchance some “innocent” Russians are killed in the process, that ain’t good.
Do we actually know who the perps are that started the gas business, and was it truly a gas attack. Lots of questions.
Fox and Friends showing daylight video now, but the video’s not up on it’s website yet.
Well 30,000 is ten times the number ever built.
If you want to make your adversaries very unhappy launch a few dozen cruise missiles at a carefully selected military target - and oh yea, make sure to let them know the missiles are on the way.
If on the other hand you want to make sure they never do this sort of thing again, take down their electrical and telecommunications grid, send in a ground force large enough to eliminate their chemical industry and completely destroy their delivery capability. Some thousands of casualties later- friendly, enemy and civilian, the bad guys may get the message.
The problem with war is that to be effective it has to be very expensive and uncertain. If all you want to do is send a message, forget the pin prick attacks and pick up the phone. Much cheaper. Much less risk.
“...to avoid putting US pilots in harm’s way. ...” We should no longer be training pilots. Pilotless aircraft are the future. Yeah, I know. No more Pappy Boyingtons, no more John McCains, no more Gary Powers.
war? hell we just took jr’s concert tickets away
I find that number very difficult to believe. If you look at prior year purchases and upgrades they number in the 100 or less additions or modifications for the various block numbers and upgrades to modernize.
I think I could believe 1/10th of that number as to how many have been bought (and a LOT have been used already) but 30,000 seems just way, way too high.
Hmmm, t’is a curiosity. Wonder what the real missile count is.

This has worked out so well for us when we've tried it in the past, amirite??
I thought about that.
They don’t grow on trees, but Tomahawks are pretty old also.
