Beyond that, they needed to hold on to customers who refuse to submit themselves to the savages inside a Wal-Mart. My town got one a few years back, and the initial excitement wore off pretty quickly as it was stormed by criminals from neighboring Newark and (to a lesser extent) Jersey City. Now people in town want Wal-Mart to pick up the tab for our cops, since they are there all the time.
