Rachel Coury, president of the Duquesne gay-straight alliance, said she fears Chick-fil-A will roll back efforts to create a safe environment for gay students on campus. “I’ve tried very hard within the last semester and a half to promote this safe environment for the LGBTQ+ community,” Ms. Coury told The Duke. “So I fear that with the Chick-fil-A … maybe people will feel that safe place is at risk.” She feels threatened by chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. And someone this clueless will likely be awarded a college degree.

Chick Fil-A needs a new strategy for its college presence. Change the name to “LGBTQ?” and have a rainbow-flag sign. Buy the rights to Burger King’s old slogan, “Have it Your Way.”. Make sure that all chicken comes from birds with feathers other than white. Have a tofu option for vegans. Serve drinks in sippy cups. Hire only racial minority and religious minority transgenders. Include crayons and little recycled paper coloring books with each meal. Have nap time specials with complementary soft bankie. Stay open on Sundays because closing is a microaggression toward non-Christians. Cover walls and other hard surfaces with rubber padding, because it wouldn’t truly be a safe space without that.
