Do all Air Force generals want to work for Lockheed when they retire?
Unfortunately you’re down to Grumman/Northrop, Boeing & Lockheed-Martin. That’s it. Northrup & Boeing do a lot with large airframes — Bombers, transports & tankers. Lockheed-Martin seems to be mostly fighters & missiles (though the C-130 keeps plugging along).
There really isn’t any private industry competition any longer. What we really have in aerospace is 3 major government-funded ‘arsenals’ for producing weaponry. It’s hard to see how this trend can be reversed, except that it is in space exploration. So maybe there’s hope.
